Critical Chain Project Management

Overview

Project Managers have gained considerable maturity in various knowledge areas and processes in Project Management. However, the human aspect is still being given relatively less importance. It is necessary to understand that human skills are a critical differentiator in ensuring successful Project completion. Every Project is unique. Scope uncertainties usually result in schedule variances. People don’t want to be late. Therefore they factor in a lot of safety in each of the project tasks. Even then most of the projects are late because of various human factors like Parkinson’s law, Students syndrome etc. Critical Chain Project Management (The application of Theory of Constraints to Project Management) targets Project Algorithms and Human behavior in a unified way. Critical Chain Project Management improves project performance by getting projects done both faster and with better reliability of the promised final project due date. In this one-day Workshop, we cover the concepts of scheduling and controlling in traditional Project Management, problems in Projects, problems in estimation, human behavior aspects and the Critical Chain approach to a unified solution. There will be examples and exercises to better understand the concepts.
This workshop is a mix of instructor led and self-paced learning, with examples and exercises to help participants learn, experiment and implement the concepts. After the Workshop, the participants will have a better understanding of how the project management algorithms and human behavior on projects van be unified.

Workshop Benefits
After the workshop, the participants would be able to:
Understand traditional scheduling and controlling•
Understand the fallacy of estimation process•
